I was searching for information this morning, and came across a company that was pitting the new iPhone up against the Palm Pre. I only had to read the first paragraph about price. Although I do have to say, its pretty impressive (and maybe more so than the Pre), but the first thing they touch on was price. The iPhone has an 8gig model which they have reduced to $99. I still dont think this compares for what you are getting, not to mention the contract price you are paying in the long run.

I went to post a comment, and the thing I hate the most is when they make you register, click to accept the terms and conditions and FORCE you to sign up for their emails in order to opt-out. I really believe this should be a part of the CAN-SPAM laws but its not.

Further, I looked into it, and not only do they force you to sign up for spam, they also store cookies on your computer.

Beware of these sites that want to hurt you rather than provide information. fastcompany.com is NOT a reputable business or site.

So now that reviews are out, are you planning on getting one? Have you tried one in a store yet?

YES Definitely!
Coincidence would have it, my touch pad on my instinct went on Saturday morning when the Pre was launched. How odd is that?

I had a friend and his boyfriend who got a Pre that morning and let me spend some time playing with it. Im definitely getting one.

I read a few reviews on it and although there are some negatives that people mention, I dont think they are issues and more of just people making things more difficult than they need to be.

For example, if you link it to your facebook, it will store ALL of your contacts and not allow you to pick and choose. The other one was no scroll to access specific letters in your address book. Well guess what? flip the keyboard out and start typing for the person you are looking for and in a few easy seconds, you have what you want.

I still like webOS and Synergy, and think it has a lot of great potential for apps, and although they are limited right now, I think they have potential to grow, and be much better than the iphone.

With the recent announcement of the new iPhone, I think its great what they did. Apple really upped their game but still on a comparison, I think for price points, the Pre still wins hands down. Especially when you consider AT&T vs Sprints network here in SF. Sprint has definitely less dropped calls and better connections.

Anyway, Ill definitely be getting one come July 1st when my contract is up. Just my opinion though :)

Re: YES Definitely!
I think my biggest concern is the keyboard. It seems nobody loves the keyboard, but only some people hate it enough for it to be a deal breaker. Since one of the things I am looking for is a hardware keyboard, I think my reaction to the keyboard is the only thing that might stop me from getting a Pre. I have yet to try one and hope to be able to do so late next week. It depends if the Sprint store in Buffalo has one available for a test run.
