Dore Alley weekend was just what I expected. Busy! Although I did find a few snags in my plans, I also managed to get rest and have a few breaths. All honesty, I was contemplating skipping the fair yesterday, thinking no one would notice, but realized, they sooooo would.
Friday night my original plan was the Eagle for the SF Leather Daddy contest. After spending a week on 1000 calories a day diet, and deciding to drink vodka soda instead of beer (less calories), not to mention hitting the 2 places that I know pour heavily, it all equalled an "I should have known better" night. I ended up staying at the contest for about an hour before getting in a cab and heading home.
My original plan was to hit Truck for their "leather make over" of the younger, newer, kinksters, but I never made it.
Saturday I had breakfast with Matt, Rob, and
throbbin. I went home and relaxed a bit more. Finally around 2:30, I headed to the Eagle for the Northern CA bootblack contest. It was good seeing my pup brother in action and competing. He has been an inspiration for me in the community and a true brother. Funny, I still remember the day we met, we just couldnt help but sniff each other, and knew right away we liked each other. Congratulations on your new title and Im sure you will do well at Internation Community Boot Black in October.
After that, David came up, and we went to the K9 unit dinner. There were about 14 of us who made it (some late and just drank). Its always good to see the pups. It was nice to see Wolffe who was one of the tally masters at IML. Daddy Richard, Brue, and spunky of course are always good company. We all went and did a bar crawl to Chaps II, Powerhouse, and finally David and I headed briefly to the Hole in the Wall and back to Castro.
Sunday I didnt want to go to the fair. I really wanted some quality time with David but I knew I signed up for my title duties and needed to be there. We stayed for a few hours, and I went home to sleep and relax before having to work at Chaps II. I watched the Spiderwick Chronicles which was better than I expected and finally off for the night. I worked till 2:30am, finally home by 3am, and up at 6am to be here at the F/T job by 7am. Lets pretty much say, Im working on 2 hours sleep and looking forward to collapsing this evening.
Overall it was good, but exhausting....
